Hi all,
I am interested in switching from ArcInfo to GRASS GIS.
But for this I would need to change my AML programs to scripts which I could run in GRASS. Now I'm not sure whether GRASS functionality allows to work similar as in ArcInfo and how long it will take to "translate" the macro programs. I have never worked with GRASS but I would really like to try.
The GIS functions I used in AI range from grid analyses, data base creation to editing vector attribute tables using cursor commands (just as examples).
Do you think it is possible to change the AI macros to shell scripts or will it be too time consuming so that it won't make sense?
Is somebody here who changed from AI to GRASS successfully and can recommend to go this step?
Cheers, Katja
