[GRASSLIST:4993] RE: bash: ./configure: no such file or directory

I should mention that I installed grass57 in
/usr/local/grass5.7.cvs-i686-pc-cygwin-11_11_2004, and I passed this
parameter during the ./configure:

--with-grass50=/usr/local/grass/grass

and I tried:

--with-grass57=/usr/local/grass5.7.cvs-i686-pc-cygwin-11_11_2004

Do I already need to have Grass5.0/Grass5.3 installed? I read somewhere that
grass57 doesn't depend on 5.3 anymore.

Thanks,

~ Eric.

Subject: [GRASSLIST:4991] bash: ./configure: no such file or directory

Hi,

I'm trying to compile 5.7 on Cygwin, Windows 2K. I've downloaded all files
and followed instructions at http://geni.ath.cx/grass.html
<http://geni.ath.cx/grass.html> , and I get the following error

After trying to configure:

bash: ./configure: no such file or directory

The same thing happens when I try ./configure.sh.

How can I get this program/script? Thanks,

~ Eric.

does './configure --help' work? This script is in whatever directory you
extracted the source code into. GRASS 5.7-cvs as of a few weeks ago no
longer requires a copy of 5.3-cvs.

Hi,

What you installed is a binary distribution, not sources, so you don't
need to compile it and cannot. I think I need to update the
http://geni.ath.cx/grass.html page to be more kindly.

grass57 script should be in /usr/local/bin unless you specified
bindir. Just run grass57.
