[GRASSLIST:5392] A v.buffer ?

Hello,
I'd like to draw an area with a given thickness around a vector line (like,
tha area 10m away from a river).
Is there any vector command that could correspond to the raster command
r.buffer ? I tried a combo "v.to.rast / r.buffer / r.poly", but of course,
the result is awfully aliased...
Any idea (even involving some scripting) will be more than welcome

written by Marco Scuratti.

Unfortunately nobody tested it yet (but it was reported by
the author to be functional).

Please try it and let us know so that we can upload it
to CVS.
