[GRASSLIST:5526] Problems compiling under Linux

Hello,

I just downloaded the source for grass5.0beta11, and can't get it to
compile. I'm running Redhat 8.0 on an i586, and AFAIK I have all the
requirements (I don't have R installed, but I don't need the scripting
capability at this point). I also have the latest GDAL installed.

I captured the output from the configure script and make, so maybe
someone can help. The error seems to be due to a missing file, but
I'm not sure that's the original error. The un-compressed output is
over 1Mb, and is available here:

http://cyclist.wblogan.net/other/typescript

A gzipped version (about 80Kb) is here:

http://cyclist.wblogan.net/other/typescript.gz

If you use less to look at the file, you can use 'less -R' to get rid
of the ANSI codes around my prompt. If anyone needs more info, just
say so and I'll send it.

Thanks for any help,
Ben

Ben,

You might want to get the stable 5.0.0 code from one of the main Grass sites.
It has been available since last fall.

beta11 is old. Check http://grass.itc.it/download.html for the
latest (a 5.0.2 may occur soon).

Beta 11 is two years old. Could you please contact the maintainer of
the site where you obtained it and ask them to remove it.

Up-to-date source code is available from:

Hello,
I have tried to import ER Mapper format to GRASS 5.0
but always failed. I've done it many ways, like export
it first to ASCII grid, TIFF, BIL and HDR.
Does anyone here has suggestions?
Thanks.
