thanQ for the info. Pl let me know where I can find
the RPMs for redhat. I tried on RPMfind.net but for
redhat it drew a blank.
Pl let me know the website where I can down load the
following rpms for REDHAT (listed below which are for
mandrake found on RPMfind.net).
libproj0-4.4.8-1mdk.i586.rpm
xterm-196-1mdk.i586.rpm
libgrass5_0-1.0.0-1mdk.i586.rpm
libgdal0-1.1.9-2mdk.i586.rpm
libgdal1-1.2.2-1mdk.i586.rpm
libfftw2-2.1.5-3mdk.i586.rpm
libogdi-3.1.2-1mdk.i586.rpm
libgeotiff1-1.2.2-2mdk.i586.rpm
libstdc++6-3.4.1-4mdk.i586.rpm
tk-8.3.3-74asp.i386.rpm
tcl-8.3.3-74.i386.rpm

I actually use RedHat WS 3.0 and Grass 6.0. I had
greater success
installing 6.0 from the Development Binaries than
trying to use the RPM
packages (see the bottom of the download page). You
should be able to
find the any required packages listed to run the
binary on rpmfind.net.
I just used the Mandrake ones. When installing, I first used
rpm -Uvh --test libproj0*.*.rpm etc...
to make sure there aren't any problems.
I personally don't know why these don't exist for RedHat, as there are a
lot more RedHat users than Mandrake generally.
Cheers!

In addition to what Craig said, I suggest to you that also test
packages from Fedora (the free version of Red Hat now). Because Red
Hat is now based on Fedora. It's basically the same thing. Fedora is a
experimental ground for features that Red Hat is planning for its
commercial/enterprise versions of Linux.
Cheers.

I have no experience creating RPMs, so someone would have to give me a
kick in the right direction as to what would need to be done yada
yada.
I do have both Enterprise 3.0 WS and Fedora Core 3.
Cheers!

It just waits for a volunteer to package and send to us, then it is
available. That goes for most of the development/translation/website/bugs
as well.
