v.out.ogr's default output format is ESRI_Shapefile.

As for exporting .e00 files, try the tools you can find here:

http://www.remotesensing.org/gdal/ogr/

(follow steps of the v.in.e00 script in reverse?)

OGR can't write arc/info binary coverages, it can only read them. So the
reverse process of v.in.e00 won't work (it converts e00 into avcbin, then uses
v.in.ogr to read that). The tool sets on those two websites don't provide
what would be needed to get Grass to export to an arc/info coverage.

surfing through the online-manual of grass 5.3.x (http://grass.itc.it/gdp/html_grass5/index.html), there is v.out.arc -("Exports GRASS vector files to ARC/INFO's "ungenerate" file format") and v.out.e00 ("Write an Arc-Info line/polygon coverage in e00 format") described, but in the online-manual of grass 6.0 there are none of these two modules. in the module porting status from 5.3 to 6.0 both (v.out.arc, v.out.e00) are in the list. what is the actual status?

greetings
helli
