Hallo Michael,
Thank you for your informations. We are using your script, it works well, it
created GRASSRGB column in database. It is ok, thank you. Now , me and my
friend are in a phase of learning basics of Grass capabilities, so
everything is new for US. We are learning Grass workflows etc.
Nice day.
Peter

Peter,
You are correct, in that you can't use the values stored in a GRASSRGB
column to color points. I seem to remember that someone was working on
changing this.
This is in part why I wrote the thematic mapper script. Using
d.vect.thematic, you CAN create a thematic point (or line or area) map with
the colors varying according to the (numeric) value of one of the attribute
fields. It's pretty flexible for making such color-themed maps.

Hi Michael,
I've tried this functionality as the first step (in GIS manager), but with
no effect. But, I've applied this functionallity on points theme. This
should be a problem, hm. So, if I understand it well, there is no
functionality for displaing and color-based classifing database point
layer
through GIS manager? Thank you for your time,
Peter

Peter,
In d.vect (also in GIS Manager), one of the options is to draw a map with
areas colored by the value of the GRASSRGB column.
Currently, this only works for fills of areas. Hopefully it will also work
for points and lines/boundaries soon.

Hi everybody,
d.vect.thematic script creted a colum in database named grassrgb
(which is a varchar column containing RRR:GGG:BBB values). Now, we
would like display this layer in NVIZ. Thematic classification should
be based on grassrgb colum. Is it possible to do that ?
Thank you,
Peter Misovic
