[GRASSLIST:7626] Re: netCDF import not working

Jason,

I posted a message about this problem a couple of months ago and did not get an answer.
Same situation with me with the Mac OS X build — I have the same problem on Linux as well.
My work-around was to use the netcdf utility ncdump to write an ascii file; then I wrote a Perl
script to reformat the data into a GRASS grid in ascii format; then import. A kluge, but I as
desperate…

Subject: [GRASSLIST:7623] netCDF import not working

Hi all,

Can anyone think of a reason that I can't import netCDF format
files
into GRASS even though they are listed as a supported format in for

r.in.gdal? I'm using GRASS 6.1 CVS for OSX by Lorenzo Moretti. I
get this error message:

r.in.gdal
input=/Users/jason/Documents/BU/GISdata/NEXRAD/temp_export/
KEWX_20050604_035728_REF_0048.nc output=035728_6_ncdf -o
ERROR 4: `/Users/jason/Documents/BU/GISdata/NEXRAD/temp_export/
KEWX_20050604_035728_REF_0048.nc' not recognised as a supported
file
format.

Thanks in advance

- Jason
