I came across a research project trying to implement postgis to work with GRASS 5.1 [http://www.scoda.unisannio.it/~antoniol/students/PostGrass\]

With GRASS 6 is therenative postgis support?
What version of postgis does it support?
Will postgrass work with current versions of GRASS and POSTGIS?

Dave,
The PostGIS support / PostGRASS was experimental AFAIK and was removed before GRASS 6.0 stable was released. Too much of a performance penalty compared with native GRASS geometry storage; the opposing methodologies of topological (GRASS) / non-topological (OpenGIS) geometry representation also made things complicated I think.
