I am having trouble with grass "unexpectedly quitting" when attempting to run i.gensig or i.gensigset.
I have macintosh os10.4 with Lorenzo's April 8 installation.
This also happens occasionally when importing shape files.
I have swapped memory in and out to see if it is a result of bad memory, but there is not change in behavior.
Any ideas on what might cause this?

CLI or GUI? Any error, warning printed? If GUI and no error/warning
visible, try running the same command from CLI (GUI "hides" some
low-level messages from the user).

Good for you.
Can you now post your working CLI commands (i.gensig, i.gensigset,
v.in.ogr) which in GUI fail for you as you described earlier?
Any error/warning messages, or do the given GUI simply crashes, not
leaving any trace? Or maybe there is something printed to the console
subsequently?
