[GRASSLIST:8082] Cross Sections

Is there a way to generate cross sections in GRASS?

I have a surface model in vector contours and a raster model of the
surface. If i have transects across a given area, is there a way to
generate cross sections?

Try d.profile to get a graphic cross-section, with option for text output,
or r.transect and r.profile to get text output of elevation (or other)
values along a transect/cross-section line.

thanks for the info. thats a cool program!

when i run it though, the first entry (A) seems to occupy the
top-right two frames, and not displaying the profile above the middle
value (it ranges from 97-99 NGVD).

all subsequent profiles (BCD) do the same thing... try to display data
up to the frame above it, but gets overwritten by what is there for
the fram above it.

any ideas?
