Well, thanks to everyone who indulged my question and responded both
personally and on the list. I've got a dual-boot Xp/Ubuntu PC up and running
with Grass 6.0.1! I haven't tried mucking around with compiling the cvs
source yet, that can wait until later.
I'm loving it so far. The Ubuntu install was painless and easy, with no
hardware hiccups, even for a Linux noob like me.
