[GRASSLIST:9352] transparence

Dear users,
do you know how and if it is possible to plot a "transparent" raster map
superimposed to another one...
I mean an aerial photo overimposed by a "transparent" map representing
the result of r.los ....
I have done this using nviz but now I need to automatize the process
into a shell script and so I need to use a planimetric view, i.e. the x0
monitor ...
thank you

Ivan

It is easy to do if you can get QGIS running with GRASS raster support.

Within GRASS see also d.shademap (d.his); r.mapcalc with #color calculations.

Assuming that you're referring to translucency, try r.blend.
