[GRASSLIST:9367] free stuff

Hi,
I joined this list only to find out what I can do with our GRASS materials. If someone would like to have it or if it is worthless and I can put it in the dumpster. We got into GRASS in 1990, never did anything with it, never will.

We have GRASS 4.0 on floppy disk (including Spearfish, Global, and Imagery sample database on 3 1/2 in floppy), and lots of manuals, tutorials, newsletters, etc. The GRASS stuff fits in one banker box.

We also have Interactive Unix OS version 3.2 that we bought to run GRASS with loads of books, binders, manuals that came with it.

We are located in Hayward, CA. You pay shipping or pick it up. Or maybe I can meet you at an Arcview user group meeting. Call 510-783-7744, ask for Sharon.

UNIX books and manuals. Yes, those are 5 1/4 in floppies.

Hi
U waited 15 years and then joined the list only to find people who can use all that U have on GRASS and UNIX.
How ever there are people for whom GRASS is very dear, very easy and a boon for the developing world who cannot cough-out money for all those costly, software.
Nice that U have preserved them well, and Iam sure U will find people willing to take this burden off U. I wish I could, but sending half way around the world may not be necessary, when U have so many GRASS users, nearby.

Yeah and I can probably find a copy of Arcview 2.x and some floppies of Windows 3.1, along with manuals, if you want to pay the shipping for them.

More seriously, you might want to check out the GRASS web site at http://grass.itc.it and find out why a lot of people prefer it to ArcGIS. It would be a shame to waste the effort of joining a very active list and getting your mailbox filled with all the messages without knowing what it’s all about.

Does anyone have a copy of GRASS 3.0 or even earlier?
At CERL they don't find it any more, I would like to add
it to our collection (not kidding). It's interesting for
a study of code evolution.
