[GRASSLIST:9742] vector corruption? after qgis session crash

Hi,

After a QGIS editing session crash, the vector that i was editing now has a
small problem. when working with this vector i get the following warning:

d.vect pedons
D1/1: Info->size = 6481, Info->mtime = 1136524613
D1/1: coor size in head = 6452, real coor file size= 6481
WARNING: coor files of vector 'pedons@waypts' is larger than it should be
         (29 bytes excess).

this file seems to work, but the warning is annoying. I have tried v.build,
however this does not fix the problem. is there any quick way to fix this, or
am i going to have to export the vector to text, and re-import it ?

thanks in advance,

Hi Dylan,

I’ve had the same problem a couple of times and running v.build solved it before. Maybe you could enter GRASS’ digitize mode and exit without modifying your vector file?

I have run into something like this too before. My hack around it was to use v.extract where=cat>0 to grab everything out of the damaged vector file. My resulting vector was error free.

G'luck,
Ian

Thanks for the tips. Opening the vector in v.digit, adding a new point, and
quitting seemed to fix the problem.

Yay!

Yay!

Open and close should be enough.
