GSoC 2027 introduction : Viya Patel

Hello everyone,

I am Viya, an engineering student. As of my coding journey till now , I have experience in C++ and Java.

I have also been exploring about routing and spatial applications, and I am genuinely interested in these areas. I am working towards GSoC 2027 and looking forward to contribute well in advance.

I’m looking forward to being a part of the community and contributing to pgRouting over the coming months. I would really appreciate any suggestions on how I should begin exploring the project, along with any resources or guidance that would help me get started.

Looking forward for the guidance and support from the community.

Thank you.

Hello

We are in the middle of GSoC, so my recommendation is:
workshop

  • build the develop branch locally and start following it carefully.
  • if you see a spelling/grammar problem fix and make a PR
  • You will have to figure out what you need to install

pgRouting

  • Build the develop branch locally.
  • Start inspecting the code

(always create a fork, and have your actions running on your fork)

You are welcome to inspect any other sub-product like:
osm2pgRouting, pgRoutingLayers, vrpRouting etc

From there, you will have to wait up to December (probably) when we have the wiki page for GSoC 2027, to see our requirements.

Regards
Vicky
