gtopo30 extraction problem

Hello,

I try to import gtopo30 data into grass. I proceeded as below:

r.in.bin -s input=E100N90.DEM output=gtopo30 bytes=2 north=90 south=40 east=140
west=100 r=6000 c=4800

It seems work well. While when I displayed the map, I got a white sheet. When I query
with mouse, it seems that the elevation value is null.
