hdf

Hi!

I remember that somebody mentioned
a program to import hdf files to grass (r.in.hdf?),
but cannot find it. Does anybody have any news on this
topic?

Thanks

Agus

Agustin,

The module is r.in.hdf and is present in your 4.2 version.
It's command-line and we use it to import NWS NEXRAD
data into GRASS. While it's not present in 5.0beta, it
*should* compile there. It will generate 4.x format files.
We're working on fp conversions for all 4.x modules, but
this is a slow process due to our current work loads. LEt
me know if you need any help with this.

Agus:

I do have the program that come with a previous distribution of GRASS
somewhere - I can dig it out and send it to you.

HDF is a very important file format. In fact, as all the EOS data
accessible trough EOS Data Gateway would be available as HDF-EOS I wonder
how much interest would be to build a more complete HDF-EOS support into
GRASS. I would be happy to contribute.

Hi Bruce,

Do you know if r.in.hdf will read HDF MAS-50 files? This file
format is used on an hyperspectral sensor called MASTER with
50 bands.
