Dear Grassusers
I have a set of vector contour lines that I would like to convert to raster
surface elevation. If r.contour can create a vector contour file from
raster elevation data, is there any command that I can use that will create
raster elevation data from vector contour lines.
Any suggestions or help are welcome.
Cheers,
Kamarul
First run v.to.rast on the vector, then run r.surf.contour on the new raster.

Dear all:
Is there possible to query (long., lat.) coordinate for a mapset
in grass 4.1 (Linux version)? It seemed only (x,y) coordinate be given
by using d.what.vect or d.what.rast. If it is not, perhaps someone can
offer an algorithm or C-source to help me.
Best wishes.

d.what.vect or d.what.rast will yield coordinates in the units defined
in your location. If you need lat-lon and you location was not defined
to use lat-lon, then you have to convert the d.what.vect or d.what.rast
output. If your location is in a UTM projection, use m.u2ll.
Hope it helps

Hello Grassu,
Can someone direct me to the introductory instructional images that
accompany the Grass 4.1 distribution (that is what the file names are and
reference to any documentation).
Thanks,
