Okay, I've got some questions about GRASS, and I hope that this list will help...
First, can GRASS be used to render DEM's in a 3d view?
Second Does GRASS allow you to edit DEM files (or a renderable equivilant)?
Third Does anyone alread have a win95 port of GRASS that isnt going to cost me money? or am I going to have to port it myself?
