Help with .gz and gcc

Tom,

You can get what you want by looking on the ftp site "sunsite.unc.edu".
Start at the /pub/gnu directory.

There are lots of README and DESCRIPTION files plus the GNU tools which
include gzip and the gcc compiler. There is also listings to find these
and other tools at ftp mirror sites.
