thanks to alastair small, i just finished installing grass 4.0 on linux.
i don't know how it would work. i had some problem with 'setpgrp()'
at the end of the installation that i had to comment out that line. that
means this copy might crash somewhere when i interrupt it. anyhow, i'll
keep working on it. any suggestion on that problem is appriciated.
now i need some help to start grass 4.0. we have an old version on our
SUN 3. and that's all experience i have so far. where i can find DOCs
for beginners?

BTW, the problem with 'setpgrp()' is:
gcc is complaining about "too many parameters to function 'setpgrp'. any
idea?
