Hello grassusers,
I'm using the Spearfish database to try out some wildland fire risk mapping
methods. For one of them I need to know the insolation. Does any one know a
method to generate a illumination map using a given solar elevation angle ?
Thanks a lot, Moniek Vesseur.

Moniek Vesseur,
I believe the GRASS contributed shell script <shade.rel.sh> will
solve your problems. The following is the definition from g.manual:
shade.rel.sh - Creates a shaded relief map based on current
resolution settings and sun altitude and azimuth values
entered by the user.
(GRASS Shell Script)
Have a great day:)
