Image processing with GRASS

functions. Does anyone out there have any comments on GRASS's image
anlysis functions? Any comments are greatly appreciated in advance.

The one comment I have to make is about the r.mapcalc and r.(m)filter
tools. These allow you to write your own image processing tools in a
script form. I found the openness of Grass in this respect to be more
important than the convenient but limited lists of image processing
techniques provided by other programs. On the other hand, at our site
we have installed Khoros for serious image processing, since this
open system gives you access to assistance and contributions from the
image processing community all over the world.
