importing BIL files that are not on tape

Dear all,

I was hoping someone could help me out on the following: I have transferred
BIL files from CDROM to my machine and tried reading them into Grass using
i.tape.other - however, the program is refusing to import the files and
produces a core dump when I specify the BIL file as the 'tape' to be read.
Is there some quick and dirty solution to this?

Hi, Philip
I have successfully used i.tape.other this way before with no problems. I
assume that your BIL file is multi-band; if not, you can directly copy
the file to the GRASS cell directory and use r.support to build the other
needed files. I'm afraid that I don't know what could be causing the core
dump. Have you successfully run the i.tape.other command before?
