Use pbmplus (public domain software) or any other package to convert
it to TIFF format or sun raster. There's a r.in.sunrast and r.in.tiff
in grass4.1 .
Where is r.in.tiff - it is not in the standard distribution ...
(I asked this once before, but got no reply).
