I have 5.0beta2 installed on a RH6.0 box and I want to install 4.2.1
onto the same machine. Can I just follow the directions from
install.pdf and install the 4.2.1 binary or do I have to make
additional arrangements to prevent damaging the existing 5.0b2
installation? I would appreciate any suggestions on this matter.
Thanks,
Mike Crimmins
Mike,
You can install them both without any conflicts. However, you
should be carteful in that GRASS 5.0 generates different data
formats than 4.2. We currently have 4 different versions running
on thesame machine (Sun Ultra Enterprise) without any problems
at all. If you have any more questions, shoot me an email.
