Integrating an external WMS with different Styles

Is it possible to integrate external WMS layers with different styles? So far I have not been able to integrate the “yellow” style of a cadastre of the state of Lower Saxony (Germany) and offer it as a WMS.

Hi Udo,

you should probably be able to select this in the ‘Publishing’ tab. But I get an error message: ‘unable to fetch remote styles for ALKIS’. The log says: ‘ERROR [web.publish] - null:unable to fetch remote styles for ALKIS
java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException’

Hi Schorsch,
I also get this error message (GeoServer version
2.25.3). In ESRI ArcMap 10.8.2, the “ALKIS” layer can be displayed perfectly in the various styles.
So could it be a GeoServer problem after all, or is the external WMS incorrectly configured?
