For those like me who have scoured Geoderma looking for the Hutchinson
Gessler paper on Splines that has been mentioned in this thread, Paul
Gessler advises me that it is still in press and will appear in Geoderma
some time in 1993. There is also a follow-up paper by Hutchinson.
