Thanks to help from people on this group, I have the linux binaries for GRASS
running on my machine. However, I have one or two problems with setup.
I am running X. In the xterm window, I type `grass4.1'. GRASS picks up
vt100 as the term type and exits. I would have hoped that GRASS would
leap into an appropriate graphics window. Can anyone suggest which files
I need to change to get this to happen. Please bear in mind that I
haven't used GRASS yet. I have that peculiar affliction that I have
to use something before I truly understand it.

Hi Mike,
I think all you have to do is check the TERM variable, which is
set to vt100, and change it to xterm. Put a line to that effect in your
.grassrc file.
