Before I install the new Red Hat 6.0 I would like to ask: Is grass 4.2.1
going to run with the new glibc-2 libraries and other RH 6.0 new
features? If it doesn't I'll save the couple of hours needed for the new
OS install.

It should as far as I am using glibc-2 myself...
Please choose the latest GRASS 4.2.1 from
http://www.geog.uni-hannover.de/grass/main_linuxbin.html
