Tom...
We have an epidemic of monitors failing.
I've only lost the use of x0 but other people have lost
x1 and x2 (we'll run out soon!.
We have been using GRASS for ages and this has only just
started, anybody got any bright ideas?
I don't suppose you're using the Solaris message-queue version of
the xdriver? If so, the problem is that the message queues don't always get
deleted, especially, I think, when you clobber the plot window from the
window manager rather than using d.mon stop= .
To fix, use the unix ipcs and ipcrm commands. See man pages. You
probably have to be root. Or reboot, but thats a less than elegant
approach. BTW, as others have reported, the ye olde fifo version workd
quite well under Sol 2.3 and 2.4.
If you're not using the message queue version, I dunno. Check the
permissions on the fifos maybe.
