This week, some of the meeting attendees are at FOSS4G Europe in Mostar and cannot attend. Therefore, I propose postponing our meeting by a week, to July 23.
However, if there are any urgent matters, please let me know (and add them to the meeting agenda).
Thanks for pointing it out! Yes, it’s tomorrow! You can find the date of the next meeting on the GeoNetwork wiki at this link.
I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight an item I’ve put on tomorrow’s agenda: regularizing the cadence of these meetings, moving to monthly.
From a quick review of past meetings, it seems like these meetings have been very useful for exchanging updates on the status of GeoNetwork 5 developments. However, based on the number of participants, it seems like the biweekly commitment is too demanding for most. I think the formula could work well better if we plan every future meeting, by regularizing the cadence. The goal is to have fewer meetings, but with a more regular frequency (such as the first Wednesday of the month), so that everyone interested can plan their participation well in advance, without having to consult the wiki.
Thanks for the great meeting today! We had a record number of participants and a truly rich and interesting agenda! Thanks to all the participants and speakers
You can find everything in the meeting notes (which, when them are so well organized and detailed, it’s because Jody wrote them!)
By popular demand, we’ve made the important decision to dedicate a meeting to discussions related to GeoNetwork 4. So, every month, we’ll have one meeting about GeoNetwork 5 and one about GeoNetwork 4.
This makes a lot of sense right now, because GeoNetwork 5 and 4 are in different stages of development, and it’s not efficient (for the time being) to have conversations that include both.
