Hi folks,
I can start monitor x0 (using d.mon) and display 256 color maps on it.
BUT, when I start another monitor (say x1) only 16 colors appear.
I'm using GRASS4.1 Update 5 with SunOS 4.1.etc on a Sparc 2.
Does anyone know how I can get 256 colors from all my monitors at once?
Thanks,
Fred

The problem you describe is both a function of X, your display, and
Grass. Basically, the colors allocated by monitor x0 aren't readably
transferable to other monitors (or other windows for that matter). A
temporary solution is to use the capabilities of d.frame within monitor x0.
