Version 4.12 of LTPlus has, in its bin directory, a program called
mosstograss. This program can work outside of LTPlus and I have used
it recently (this afternoon!). It takes a MOSS file and creates an
ASCII digit file, an attribute file, and a category file to be placed
in the appropriate location in GRASS. I haven't checked to see if I
can get all quads for a soil survey area to come with similar attributes,
but this program meets all other needs. It will be easy to set up some
scripts to handle mass file conversion.

USDA-SCS for letting me know that the update disks for LTPlus that
contained this program had been sitting in my desk drawer for several
months now!
