Dear Mark,
As I am in hurry (I'm going to take part in two conferences
in Paris next week) I can't fully answer your mail.
But I think I said enough about the matter and my opinions
were expressed sufficiently. I don't have time to
study deeply technical matters concerning XGRASS and
programs associated with it (I am a scientist and not
a profess. programmer) to answer your questions.
I expressed only my opinions concerning GUI of GRASS
in comparison to GUI on PC's and tried to attract attention
to this area which plays very important role for simple users.
I am more interested in developing new methods applicable to various GIS'
and not just improving various aspects of GRASS. Currently
GRASS provide me a lot of things which make my scientific life easier.
Therefore I am grateful to its authors. And also therefore I provide
a source code of GRASS programs on which I'm working on
if someone wishes to use them. That's all.
