no grass5.0beta

    I've compiled, and all said it went well. However, I have no
grass5.0beta binary. What's going on? The error log holds no errors.

    Also, is there a getting started guide anywhere? I see lots of
tutorials (for the 4.x versions), but no 10 page document on getting
started.

Timothy,

as we don't know which GRASS 5 version you compiled, check if the start
script is
grass5
or
grass5beta

Look into /usr/local/bin to find it.

    Yes, I saw those, but they are for 4.x, not 5.0. And They say to start
the grass binary, which I don't have. I did try the obvious first.

    My apologies, I assumed the grass5 would have been put in the
/usr/local/grass5/bin directory. The "First Time Usage of GRASS GIS" did not
mention that it would be put in /usr/local/bin.
