You might try running "r.resample" on the images right where they are in the
temporary mapset after creating a region of the desired size.
(i.e. r.resample i=imagery o=imagery) This will overwrite the original
image to the size you desire. Then exit that mapset and re-enter GRASS at
the new mapset, and perform a "g.copy rast=" to transfer the cut-down
imagery files to your mapset. Of course, you'd have to have included the
new mapset in your search path using g.mapsets.

Or, you can transfer the entire images to your new mapset, and perform the
resampling and over-writing at that workspace.

Don't forget to "zap" the imagery files from the first mapset, your systems
administrator will thank you for cleaning up after yourself.
