The link (href) goes to riot.im on this webpage and no longer works due to
riot.im being deprecated. I believe most matrix URLs use matrix.to now
instead.

Yes that url: Communications - OSGeo which
contains a riot.im link i believe the recommended way to link to a channel
nowadays is via matrix.to as you mentioned. That is all I was trying to

Just to be sure, and for completeness, you are proposing to update the
[Communications - OSGeo communications] page in
the OSGeo website to replace the link pointing to
https://riot.im/app/#/room/\#general:osgeo\.org by this one
https://matrix.to/#/\#general:osgeo\.org
Is this correct?
I saw in the chat room convo you also mentioned a
[OSGeo General - Public Room ERROR - Matrix Static
It90Z0FTFSAc1VJv7QWcuY1j3wgWHuay-j2k0aU&offset=30 preview page] but seems
to me that we should add the `matrix.to` and maybe the preview afterwards
so folks can see there's activity on the channel and join it. Please let
us know what you think.
