We have recently started a local user group called **QGIS Pays de
Savoie**.
The idea is to create a friendly space for QGIS users from Savoie and
Haute-Savoie (together known as the [Savoy - Wikipedia
Pays de Savoie], a historical and cultural region in
[Fichier:Pays de Savoie location map2.svg — Wikipédia
south-eastern France]) to connect, share experiences, and meet locally.
This group is intended as a local subgroup within the broader QGIS
Francophone community.
We would like to use Discourse as our main discussion platform. Would it
be possible to create a “QGIS Pays de Savoie” subcategory within QGIS-FR?
If sub-subcategories are not supported, we would be happy to discuss
alternative structures (for example, a dedicated category).
If you need help, or if time is an issue, I’m happy to handle the
Discourse setup myself if you can grant me the necessary permissions. fiy,
I’m also planning to contribute more broadly to the QGIS community in the
near future, including work around the QGIS mailing lists.

I think we allow creating a next level subcategory. I know we had limited
some depth mostly to limit confusion.
I just gave you admin rights. Should should have gotten a confirmation
message to accept. Let me know if you don't get the message.
Feel free to create the category and if you run into issues I can walk you
thru it.

So, I've created the [QGIS-fr-user - OSGeo Discourse
/qgis-pays-de-savoie/73 group] as a subcategory of
[QGIS-fr-user - OSGeo Discourse QGIS-fr-user].
However, it's not displayed in the subcategory:

But, you can retrieve it with the search engine:
[[Image(image hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB)]]
And it's well defined as a subcategory:

Okay I just looked at the Committees category which has nested
subcategories and it doesn't show the next level categories in the
subcategories either. I think the thing that showed it at least below is
to in the parent category - setting subcategory List Style to "Boxed with
featured topics"
So changing the QGIS-fr to that, it now looks like this:

But sadly the subcategory search seems hardwired to only show 2 levels.

I also set the email address of qgis-pays-de-savoie to
qgis-pays-de-savoie@discourse.osgeo.org
so any email sent to that by authenticated users in the QGIS-fr group
should be able to create new topics by sending to that email address.
