Dear OSGeo colleagues,
Apologies in advance for a longer email and for cross-postings.
As you may recall, in 2017-18, Mohammed Zia, Andy Anderson, and I launched FOSS4G conference proceedings “Scholarworks” website. Over time, thanks largely to the hard work of Mohammed (and also Andy and Franz-Josef Behr), proceedings were posted for:
Volume 18 (2018) - Guimarães, Portugal
Volume 17 (2017) - Boston, USA
Volume 16 (2016) - Bonn, Germany
Volume 15 (2015) - Seoul, South Korea
Volume 14 (2014) - Portland, Oregon, USA
Volume 13 (2013) - Nottingham, UK
Two other conference proceedings, Volume 17, No. 2. (2017) - Marne La Vallée, France and Volume 18, No. 2 (2018) - Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania were (understandably!) published separately on the ISPRS website, but we linked to those proceedings on the above Scholarworks site.
Since launch in 2017, we’ve had 27,424 paper downloads and over 1000 in just the last month. The interactive statistics dashboard is here.
If the FOSS4G 2019 or 2020 academic track managers (or continental FOSS4G conference academic track managers) want to host their conference proceedings to this site, please contact me (cschweik@umass.edu). Our idea was to keep this repository updated over time with FOSS4G conference proceedings.
Cheers,
Charlie Schweik
