patterns in ps.map

Hi,

Does anyone know why one can't use patterns in ps.map like you can p.map?
Would anyone have any suggestions at getting around this problem? The
only way around this that I can figure out is saving a map in sunraster
format and then importing it into grass as a raster file, and then ps.mapping
the raster file. Any simpler solutions out there?

Thanks,
Christine

Hi Christine,
You can use the PBM filters to take the $HOME/paint.ppm output from p.map and

pipe it through pnmtops and redirect to a file. This should get you something
to print with lpr. Good luck. Rick
