please help -- a start-up tutorial ??

  Can you please provide a pointer to -
  or e-mail me a file /instructions
                                     which would illustrate
  basic operations of grass?

   I have compiled grass and got to DONE and made links - and I do
  not see any tutorials except /grass/4.1/documents/SG3d.tutorial.ps
  is that a place to start? I want something which will illustarate
  how to extract (some) from world database, putthem on monitor,
  select layers, and print a .ps file with map.

Hi Peter,

  you can get a draft version of a Grass beginner's tutorial by
anonymous FTP from scanner.frw.uva.nl:pub/grassman.*. There are ASCII,
WordPerfect, and PostScript versions available.
