Try to set your DISPLAY variable, in c shell you may do this
by typing
setenv DISPLAY "Complete address":0.0",
This should be done on the window from which you are trying to run GRASS
then you should go to your other window , "Window of the machine on which you are working" and say xhost +
Try running d.mon after this.
