I know that v.proj works only on vector data files, whereas my
files are raster. secondly I could not locate r.proj on my bin. Can you please

Here's an address from a mail posting in Oct. '93 from
Michael Hill.
ftp site: brcsun1.tamu.edu
under: pub/outgoing/srin
files: r.proj.tar and r.neigh.tar
Evidently, r.neigh is needed to fill holes left from the r.proj program.
I have not tried these myself, so....
