Ah, so yet another grid system. Is there a "official" designation
for this system? The 2,000,000 x zone reminded me of the GK system
but its zone, like UTM are 6, not 3 degrees.

Thanks.

The official designation is Gauss-Krueger. I don't know if the six degreee
zones are official or not, but the three degree step is
the way the system works in Germany.
