I just wanted to know what type of projections are supported by
GRASS and if (in particular) tranverse mercator is supported.

Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) is the only fully-supported projection.
There is significant, but not complete, support for Lat/Lon.

Hi Casey,
With the use of the Proj 4 program that was incorporated into GRASS from
the USGS, you can convert to many projections. Proj 4 should be in the GRASS
