It seems that there is something wrong with your ps.select/list.c. Procedure
ls_painters() is out of order. It checks out if the given name is relevant.
As a quick fix you can commment out row 18 from your main.c and the checking
should be disabled.
Some more cleaver one should try to find out a better fix
