I removed the .pdf attachment so it would send.

Hello Community. I am trying to produce a grid within a polygon. I have measured the distances between points along the x and y axes. GPS coordinates are not precise enough so I want to plot points specified distances along the x and y axes. However when I go to create the points, the measure tool turns off. I have not found a way to show the distance as I go from one point to the next.
Alternatively, If there was a tool that utilizes a table containing the distances for plotting along a line, I could digitize lines along the poly boundaries and do it that way, I was an ArcGIS user for years until movint into management, and then retiring. So I am just learning QGIS.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, Len.
I think you may want to try using the Advanced Digitizing panel, which
as you digitize points will show distances from the previous point.
You can also use it to make exact angles, etc.
https://docs.qgis.org/3.16/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/editing_geometry_attributes.html#the-advanced-digitizing-panel
But if you just want a grid with regular spacing, you could use the
"Create Grid" tool and then clip the result to your polygon.
Cheers,
Keith

Thanks Keith. The one I am doing right now is irregular, so I will try your first suggestion. But in the future I am sure the second will help me out. I really appreciate your input.
