Quite old as an article.
And quite biased, to say the least...
I like Spring very much, but I'll never take into
accounts the words of a person that has such an evident
and preemptive avversion versus anything.
And I'll never be able to understand why JBoss people
are to be considered impure just because they try to make money
out of open-source. How are they supposed to feed their children???
Also I never read or saw *anything* in the JBoss products I used
or evaluated so far, that made me think they're trying to lock me
into anything.
That said, Spring is, in this very epoch, much more agnostic
than JBoss, while the latter is aiming at becoming.
I also think that Spring is the right choice for GeoServer and GeoTools,
particularly if we'll get rid of all the mess in the data acces layer
(aka JDBC DataStores) replacing it with something much more robust.
Bye

Oggetto: [Geoserver-devel] Geoserver EE, Spring vs JBossHello all,
Chris managed to find a great article summing up the
strategies of the
Spring and JBoss Micro camps.http://www.manageability.org/blog/stuff/spring-versus-jboss/view
Thanks Chris. Still liking how spring looks, in terms of
integration and
adoption of standards.-Justin
